Google has a clear timeline and roadmap for releasing more Android updates. We’ll tell you the rest of the schedule for the current year 2022. The first four months have passed and it is also clear from the recent past what plan Google has planned for Android updates for the rest of 2022. We’ll tell you which updates you can expect this year.
Updates without end: 2022 timetable for Pixel users is already very full
However, we are primarily referring to the smartphones in the Pixel series from Google. With other manufacturers, the distribution of new updates is of course somewhat different. As a brief explanation, Google releases new updates monthly, which include Google System Updates and the usual security patch. Google is also testing the quarterly update (Pixel Feature Drop, QPR) and the next new Android version (13) via the beta program.

These updates will all appear for the Pixel 4 to Pixel 7 devices. A final update for the Pixel 3a and 3a XL will follow in July, while the update guarantee for the Pixel 4 and 4 XL will end with the update to Android 13 in autumn 2022. Of course, there can always be delays due to circumstances over which you have no influence.
