Earlier there was news that Microsoft is developing a new Outlook application internally, which will replace the existing email client in the Windows system in the future. And the latest exposed information shows that its launch time may not be far away.
An early version of the app was leaked recently, giving us a look at how the new Outlook will work once it’s approved. Some users also appear to have been able to activate the app and set up their accounts.
The new Outlook app is essentially a web-based version of the email client that will eventually replace the default Windows Mail app. According to The Verge, Microsoft is expected to announce the new Outlook app at its Build developer conference and begin rolling it out to Windows devices later this year.
“We appreciate everyone’s excitement about our next update and will be sharing more in the coming weeks,” said Scott Stiles, VP of Product Management for Outlook. The version available for download is Outlook An early unsupported beta version for Windows lacks some of the features and improvements that will be made available to our testers. We encourage our customers to wait for the beta release.”
