Battlefield 2042 Season 1 begins in June: The roadmap with new content

The Swedish development team is not yet ready to reveal the precise launch date, however, it has anticipated that Battlefield 2042 Season 1 will introduce a new map, an unreleased Specialist, new weapons and vehicles, and the first Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass.

Which will offer players the opportunity to unlock new gameplay items (as part of the free progression) and new cosmetic items (both as part of the free tiers and as part of the paid progression). In addition to the batch of content, we can also expect a number of improvements to the gameplay experience, such as animation refinements, a Kaleidoscope map update and improvements to the crossing mechanics.

Season 1 will kick off a year full of new content, which collectively will see the debut of four Seasons, four Specialists, several new maps and an unspecified number of weapons and gadgets designed to expand the sandbox experience. A considerable production effort prompted DICE to abandon the components less appreciated by gamers: for example, the Hazard Zone mode will no longer be supported.
