Apple is preparing to launch an iCloud for macOS 13 and will release a new AirPorts router by the end of the year

The well-known tipster MajinBuOfficial claimed that Apple is developing the iCloud version of the Time Machine function and a series of new AirPort routers, and he also released a picture of the new AirPort (seeing the resolution seems to be is a built-in texture in an Apple App).

Apple submitted a document to the FCC on May 23. In the document, Apple details a device called “A2657,” which resembles some kind of network adapter, similar to AirPort.

However, it has now been four years since the AirPort Base Station, which itself was originally released in 2013. There have been whistleblowers talking about new AirPort hardware long before production was discontinued, but such rumors have all but disappeared in recent years.

Considering the leaker’s history, it’s plausible to say that Apple is working on an iCloud version of Time Machine for the new Macs without looking at the AirPort base station, but he didn’t say when Apple will launch this feature.

He believes that Apple is bringing a completely redone Time Machine “time machine” to macOS 13, which will be released at WWDC, and will integrate with iCloud Drive. Using the Mac’s built-in backup “Time Machine” feature, the Mac can automatically back up your personal data, including apps, music, photos, emails, and documents. Once backed up, you can restore files that were later deleted or inaccessible.

Time Machine backup

Connect an external storage device, such as a USB or Thunderbolt drive. Open Time Machine preferences from the Time Machine menu in the menu bar. Or choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Time Machine.

Select the name of the disk, then click Use Disk. Time Machine starts automatic periodic backups immediately without further action on your part. If you want to start a backup manually instead of waiting for the next automatic backup, choose Backup Now from the Time Machine menu in the menu bar.

Using this menu, you can also view the status of a backup or skip a backup in progress. For example, if a backup is in progress, this menu will show the progress of the backup completion. If a backup is not in progress, this menu will display the date and time of the most recent backup.
