Pixel Watch: Everything we know now – but not from Google

Google held back on the technical details when unveiling the Pixel Watch. In retrospect, however, further details have become public. Leaks coming from well-informed insiders are once again a priority. But various information can also be derived from official interviews. This means that the Pixel Watch will definitely be available in a variant with LTE (mobile communications).

Fitbit feature and high price

In an interview, a responsible person also revealed that customers can expect an absolute premium product. If you want to buy cheaper, you should stop by the Google subsidiary Fitbit. It’s just stupid that Fitbit is still talking about Wear OS but still hasn’t announced its own devices with the Android operating system. So interested customers are only left with the Pixel Watch, which has some Fitbit features on board.

The high-quality presentation, statements in interviews and previous rumors speak of at least 300 euros for the Pixel Watch.

Internals of the Pixel Watch: Lots of memory and a new co-processor

Last but not least, various technical data have appeared or could be confirmed. This includes the four-year-old Exynos processor from Samsung, which Google would like to use. But it is equipped with a previously unknown new co-processor. This even makes it possible for Google to make it its “own” platform and not just take the finished Samsung product. Tensor for Wear OS? A very interesting point, I think.

Interestingly, the mentioned insiders can confirm previous reports and rumors that the Pixel Watch sets new records for data storage and memory for Wear OS. 32 GB of data storage should be safe. So far there is a maximum of 16 GB. In terms of working memory, we can probably count on 2 GB of RAM. So far, other brands have relied on a maximum of 1.5 GB of RAM. The future Wear OS benchmark could therefore actually come from Google.

Wireless charging and charging with USB-C

As for the charger, it’s supposed to be “wireless”. The charger probably has the Qi standard as in the Pixel smartphones, which means that the watch can also be charged via smartphone (Battery Share). The cable is also equipped with USB-C, which means that the watch can also be charged via cable with a modern smartphone.
