Gotham Knights will no longer include dubbing or Russian subtitles: the game’s localization was planned, but the events related to the war in Ukraine convinced Warner Bros. to proceed in that direction.
A few hours after the criticisms of Batgirl and her disability, the developers of Gotham Knights, therefore, found themselves facing another difficult decision, which apparently is already operational: the information relating to the translation into Russian has been removed and the official site has been shut down.
According to an internal source, the situations would be somehow connected: precisely because of the controversy about Batgirl, the publisher would be afraid of further indisposing the community and the sector press, hence the choice to “sanction” Russia.
