OnePlus wants to make OxygenOS great again with our help. While OxygenOS isn’t bad, it’s not what it used to be. It’s too similar to ColorOS in its current OxygenOS 12 form. It used to be more stock Android and blazing fast.
Oppo actually wanted Oppo and OnePlus to have a unified operating system that will look a little different. Both operating systems are now based on the same code base and look a bit similar, but users aren’t exactly happy about it.
It was already reported in February that we can expect a unified operating system in the second half of this year. However, after the angry reactions of the users, OnePlus decided against this plan. The company decided later that same month to keep OxygenOS separate from ColorOS.
OxygenOS 13 is expected to be more in line with stock Android than OxygenOS 12. This will make many users happy, as this has always been the benefit of previous OxygenOS versions.
For this reason, OnePlus has just started a poll on the OnePlus forums. In the forum post, OnePlus says it “would like to better understand what you guys think about OxygenOS as it is now… Your experiences and insights can help us make further improvements.”
For example, OnePlus asks you to name the best feature in the current OxygenOS version as well as the worst feature in it. Also, mention some features that you’ve used in other operating systems and that you’d like to see in OxygenOS. Then let’s hope that OnePlus will find its way back to its old strength with OxygenOS.
