New Google Assistant settings are coming, more structure and overview are shown

The Google Assistant offers a very large range of functions, which covers numerous areas and offers options, especially on the smartphone. Due to the growing range of functions, the settings have become more and more confusing, so another restructuring is imminent. In the current version of the Google app, a new interface has now been activated that looks much tidier.

In order to adapt the Google Assistant to your own needs, there are numerous setting options, which in turn cover countless areas. For some time now, this list has been sorted alphabetically for the sake of clarity, but due to the growing range of functions, this list has become longer and longer and now requires a lot of scrolling work. Therefore, a restructuring is imminent, which you can see in the following screenshots.

The large header area has disappeared again and is replaced by the well-known search bar including a profile picture. Immediately after that comes the long list, which is divided into three large areas: Customize your Assistant, Get things done and Manage apps & services.

This creates a little more overview and you have said goodbye to alphabetical sorting. Instead, it goes back to relevance. The list is not only re-sorted, but also structured. Numerous entries are moved to submenus so that eight entries can be saved simply by combining apps and services.

The new Google Assistant settings have already been enabled in the current version of the Google app, but are not yet available to all users. But it shouldn’t be long before this redesign is rolled out for all users. It’s still not really clear, but with the large range of functions that will probably no longer be possible at some point. A lot of things can also be adjusted elsewhere, so users don’t have to look into these settings very often.
