Craig Federighi wanted to immediately underline the new customization possibilities that the next Apple system will be able to offer to its customers, a sign that Apple has probably worked as it had never done before to reduce the gap between iOS and Android.

To begin with, the font of the clock can be changed, and some sort of widgets that resemble those of the Apple Watch arrives: “They will be very useful for gathering information at a glance”.
There are also new notifications called Live Activities to stay updated on live events, and workouts but also the music player will be part of this category, which is a mix between a “classic” notification and a widget.
The Full Immersions become part of the lock screen, and each of them can be associated with backgrounds and special widgets, and are integrated in a deep way on the Safari browser, which for example can show the tabs related to work when you switch to the appropriate modality.
The Messages app gains the edit key before WhatsApp and Twitter, along with an additional virtual key to cancel sending a message. The dictation mode of iOS 16 will be hybrid, in the sense that the keyboard will remain open at the same time as the voice dictation, so as to quickly switch from one input to another; there is also the possibility of dictating an emoticon with the voice, describing it, which is an important novelty in the area of accessibility.
Apple has officially announced the operation of the tap-to-pay function that transforms the iPhone into a Pos, which we have already talked about extensively. Apple is updating its range of features for families. The company says it will now make it easier for parents to set up age-appropriate parental controls and features for Apple devices, while the development team is updating the Screen Time controls with improvements such as the ability to respond to requests for extra time in messages, and other matters.
The company has offered parental controls today, allowing parents to configure what children can and cannot do on their devices, what content they can view, and when they can use their device’s apps and features. With Family Sharing, users can also share their purchases and subscriptions with five other family members.
Now, Apple is adding a new feature, “Quick Launch,” that will make it easier for users to set age-appropriate restrictions for apps, movies, books, and music, as well as provide quick settings options for configuring other important parental controls. The feature is similar to the settings options available to iPhone users, all it takes is bringing the child’s device near the parent’s device and letting the child’s device apply all the parental controls that have been selected and adjusted from the parent’s phone.
Additionally, Apple is making it easier for parents to respond to their kids’ screen time requests. Previous actions had to navigate to settings to approve additional time, and parents could respond directly to the message.
