Google closes the Android 12 beta program with the final version of QPR3

After three months of testing, thanks to users enrolled in the beta program of Android 12, Google has started the rollout of the Quarter Platform Release 3, which brings the version of the green robot to number 12.1. For Google, this is a particularly complete update, since it includes the security patches of the month of June and the most recent Feature Drop, even if there are not many new features available for users.

You can find out all the news introduced by the Feature Drop and the new security patches in our dedicated article. As we said, however, the new update brings the definitive version of the QPR3, started a few months ago by Google and now in the final version. The QPR3 does not bring particular news for users, we only report the movement of the battery widget in the Battery section instead of in the Services, and the possibility of showing the vibration icon in the status bar.

The most interesting news, which will please those who participate in the beta program, is the possibility of abandoning the program after installing this update, without having the smartphone content deleted as happened with previous betas. This is because in fact the beta program of Android 12 has come to an end and has been replaced by the beta program for Android 13, now in its second beta.

Previously, users had the option to leave the beta program at any time, but they had to endure a complete system recovery and have to reconfigure all their applications. Finally, we remind you that the patches are available for all the Pixels still supported, starting from Google Pixel 4, passing through all intermediate smartphones up to the most recent Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro.
