iOS 16 improves iPhone 13 portrait and movie mode shooting experience

During yesterday’s WWDC 2022 keynote, Apple introduced many new features of iOS 16. But in addition to highlights such as lock screen widgets, sharp-eyed people have found that iOS 16 also brings an improved portrait and movie mode shooting experience to the iPhone 13 series of smartphones. It is reported that in order to protrude the main object in portrait mode, iOS 16 will use a fine blur algorithm to obtain a realistic depth of field effect.

We’ve seen how smartphones can adjust background blur for an enhanced portrait-shooting experience before. While the iPhone 13’s camera is already pretty impressive, iOS 16 also brings improvements to its native camera app in Movie Mode – a mode where the blur quality of hair and the edges of glasses has been improved.

It should be noted that the relevant improvements are currently limited to the iPhone 13 series, but we do not rule out that Apple will bring bigger surprises on the upcoming iPhone 14 series models.
