Overwatch 2: Release date of the beta announced

Activision Blizzard has announced the release date of the Overwatch 2 beta: June 28, 2022. There are therefore a few days left before the arrival of the highly anticipated online shooter. Also revealed what will be the contents of the beta, which will be available for PC and consoles: the new character Junker Queen and a new map. More details will be revealed in the coming days.

Registration for the beta will begin on June 16, so two days from now. It was recently announced that it will be free-to-play and that owners of the first Overwatch will receive a rich welcome package. For more information on the game, read our Overwatch 2 preview, in which we wrote:

Perhaps this Developer Livestream has lasted too long for the few innovations revealed, but what we have seen will make the community discuss for months. Blizzard is walking on eggs: in theory, the changes made to the game structure should have a significant impact on gameplay and balance, in practice, however, it is all to be seen.

The truth is, this batch of news has shown that Aaron Keller’s team is still way behind on the job and the launch window now seems further away than ever. Our feelings are ambivalent: we like what we have seen, but are we sure that it will be enough to regain the interest of those who have given up Overwatch for some time?
