Photoshop web: Freemium version soon

The arrival of Photoshop web dates back to October when Adobe announced the possibility for Creative Cloud subscribers to make small changes to files through a browser. Now the same software house in San Jose, which over the months has tried to expand the service, is testing, for the moment in Canada, a free version of Photoshop web.

Starting from this, reserving the most advanced features for paying users, a freemium version of the app should be obtained, so as to offer a free service to all with the main functions of Photoshop and perhaps convince someone to subscribe to take advantage of the rest. A sort of “bridge” test for paid Photoshop for those who need something more complete.

In the meantime, Adobe has announced some news for Photoshop web in the version already available since last October:

  • New easy-to-use editing possibilities, such as curves, refine edge, dodge and burn, and smart objects
  • Browser access from mobile devices for quick and easy changes
  • Inserting content for those not very familiar with Photoshop
  • Performance and user experience improvements.

In addition, Adobe has announced a powerful new neural filter that will help restore “paper” photos that you want to digitize. The filter is capable of detecting and eliminating “in a few seconds” scratches or other small imperfections that can afflict photographs with a few years of conservation behind them.

NEW FOR LIGHTROOM

The Adobe team has also worked on Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, producing an update that according to the software house is able to allow photographers to save time. Here is the news announced to improve editing and workflows:

  • Ability to quickly crop and edit video clips using the same editing sliders and presets used for photos (desktop and mobile);
  • Adaptive presets based on artificial intelligence that allows you to apply different effects to different areas of the photos (Lightroom desktop, Lightroom Classic, Adobe Camera Raw);
  • Key workflow improvements for adjusting the intensity of presets (Lightroom desktop, mobile, web, Lightroom Classic) and for comparing photos side-by-side (Lightroom desktop);
  • Automatic red-eye correction using artificial intelligence (Lightroom desktop and Adobe Camera Raw);
  • Nuovi preset Premium (Lightroom desktop, mobile, web, Lightroom Classic, Adobe Camera Raw);
  • Remix features arrive on Lightroom mobile and web.
