Overwatch 2 says goodbye to chests, all the details on battle pass and mythic skins

The event dedicated to Overwatch 2 tonight has allowed players from all over the world to discover many new features on the hero shooter, including the system through which it will be possible to unlock new cosmetic elements.

The developers have in fact confirmed the abandonment of the Forzieri or the loot boxes that in the first chapter allowed you to unlock skins and other objects randomly. In place of this system, we will find two different mechanics related to the expansion of the players’ inventory: the first is the classic shop where we can make purchases through microtransactions and the second consists of the now-classic Battle Pass.

Every nine weeks a new pass will arrive containing skins, weapon charms, banners and other trappings to use to change the appearance of the heroes. It would also seem that the development team wants to introduce an even rarer type of model than the legendary one, namely the mythical skins.

In a similar way to what is seen in Fortnite, the costumes belonging to this level of rarity can be changed in appearance and colors and it is likely that it is the object to be unlocked at the last level of each season pass.

While waiting to find out what the costumes will be for Season 1, we remind you that Overwatch 2 will be free to play and early access will be published on October 4, 2022, on all platforms.
