iOS 16 autumn official version does not include these 6 new features for the time being

According to the latest report, among the many announcements made during Apple’s WWDC22 keynote, some of these features will not appear in the official version of iOS 16 fall. Even some features will not be launched until 2023.

Matter Smart Home Connect

Matter is a smart home networking protocol that allows products from different companies to work together. It will work with Apple’s HomeKit protocol. The matter requires an Apple TV or HomePod as a network hub. Currently, there are no Matter accessories on the market, but they may be released at the same time as Apple supports it.

Apple says support for Matter will be available in a software update later this year.

Freeform

Released with iPadOS 16, Freeform is Apple’s upcoming app that lets teams collaborate. It’s a shared whiteboard with full Apple Pencil support where people can draw, write notes, start FaceTime sessions, see updates in Messages, and more.

Apple may still be fixing bugs and testing Freeform internally. Once launched, it will compete directly with similar whiteboard apps. Freeform is due to launch “later this year” as a brand new Apple app that will likely appear in iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 alongside Matter.

Live activity

Apple’s iPhone’s iOS 16 lock screen has seen major improvements this year. Owners will be able to customize the font style of the clock, display widgets, and display real-time activity from the app.

Live activity will appear in some apps to show live updates about certain content on the lock screen. Check deliveries, sports scores, and more without unlocking your device. Apple is releasing new APIs so developers can add the feature to their apps.

New CarPlay Dashboard

Apple’s next-generation CarPlay will shake up the auto industry. By 2023, CarPlay will act as a vehicle operating system.

The next generation of CarPlay will replace the traditional instrument cluster with on-screen gauges showing fuel, engine temperature and miles per gallon. Fourteen automotive suppliers are working with Apple to integrate CarPlay into their next-generation vehicles.

SharePlay for Game Center

Game Center was updated in the next version of Apple’s operating system. The dashboard shows an aggregate of all game achievements and game activity. In a future update to iOS 16, Apple will integrate phone contacts and SharePlay into Game Center. SharePlay debuted in iOS 15 and macOS Monterey, allowing for simultaneous FaceTime calls while using other apps like Apple TV.

Gamers on Apple devices will be able to play Game Center-compatible multiplayer games through SharePlay. Contacts will also be integrated into Game Center, making it easier to send and accept friend requests and see what friends are playing.

Web push notifications

Web push notifications aren’t a big deal, but the technology coming in 2023 will improve the web app experience on Apple devices. Web push will allow developers to provide better notifications for progressive web applications. These will be sent via a combination of Push API, Notifications API and Service Worker.

Apple’s Safari browser can currently display notifications on the Mac desktop, and Web Push will push them even further. The web application will use the same Apple Push notification service as native push on Apple devices.
