Windows 11/10 update patch KB5014697 new bug

Microsoft recently confirmed that Windows users are experiencing mobile hotspot issues after installing the latest cumulative update. As it turns out, this isn’t the only problem in Microsoft’s June 14, 2022 patch.

According to Microsoft’s official Windows Health Dashboard documentation, users with Windows installed on ARM computers are having issues logging into their Microsoft 365 accounts and Azure Active Directory.

Microsoft said the issue will affect sign-in functionality, as well as virtual private network connections, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and Outlook. Affected platforms include client versions of Windows 11 21H2, Windows 10 21H2, Windows 10 21H1, and Windows 10 20H2.

Fortunately, x86 processor systems with Intel and AMD are not affected by this bug.

After installing patch KB5014697 on Windows ARM-based devices, you may not be able to sign in using Azure Active Directory (AAD). Apps and services that sign in using Azure Active Directory may also be affected. Some scenarios that may be affected are virtual private networks Connectivity, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Outlook. Note: This issue only affects Windows devices with ARM processors.

Microsoft is investigating the issue and promises to provide an update in an upcoming release. In the meantime, users can bypass the issue by using the web versions of the affected applications and services. Additionally, users can uninstall bad Windows updates to eliminate specific bugs.
