Google Tasks and Google Calendar are even more integrated thanks to this novelty

A few days ago we talked about the introduction on Google Tasks of the possibility of marking one’s activities as “special” and now the application seems destined to interact more and more with the remaining Google services starting from Google Calendar.

Google, in fact, seems willing to put in order once and for all in its ecosystem the “reminder” section in which there are three different services to keep track of their to-do: the reminders of the Google Assistant, the reminders within the notes of Google Keep and, in fact, Google Tasks which seems to be the service on which the Mountain View giant has decided to focus for the future.

According to what 9to5Google colleagues unearthed in the teardown of the apk of the next Google Calendar update, Google Tasks should, in fact, replace the Google Assistant reminders in the calendar and become the only app capable of fulfilling this function.

Google Tasks is ready to land on Google Calendar

In the changelog of the update – which has not yet been released globally – there is a wording that reads: “Use Tasks to receive notifications about to-dos and keep track of them wherever you are in Google Workspace.”

The transition to Google Tasks now seems the most sensible move as from month to month it is enriched with functions that make it more and more complete and functional while, on the other hand, the reminders present in Google Calendar still have an interface and of functions bordering on the essential.

In addition, Google Tasks can enjoy a much deeper integration with Gmail making it an ideal companion to manage your commitments and activities alongside Calendar thanks to the sidebar on the web version of the mail client.
