V Rising: Will extend the life of the game but not ask players to play indefinitely

V Rising has sold more than 2 million copies, and in a new interview with SegmentNext, developer Stunlock Studios revealed the direction and details of the game’s 1.0 version.

Regarding player retention, Stunlock believes that V Rising doesn’t need “a lot of players online to continue to be fun, and in that sense, it’s not really an online service game”. While the team is grateful for the support of players, it is not expected that every player will be able to play indefinitely.

Still, Stunlock said that version 1.0 of the game will “have a longer lifespan and new experiences” and that the development team will “do their best to ensure players come back to receive our updates”.

Stunlock concluded: “Our goal is to make the full version of V Rising an evolution of the game, with some exciting additions to come.”
