In this November Samsung will unveil Galaxy S23 Snapdragon variant

Snapdragon is a suite of system-on-a-chip (SoC) semiconductor products for mobile devices designed and marketed by Qualcomm Technologies Inc. Snapdragon’s central processing unit (CPU) uses the ARM architecture.

A single SoC may include multiple CPU cores, an Adreno graphics processing unit (GPU), a Snapdragon wireless modem, a Hexagon digital signal processor (DSP), a Qualcomm Spectra image signal processor (ISP) and other software and hardware to support a smartphone’s global positioning system (GPS), camera, video, audio, gesture recognition and AI acceleration.

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is currently the smartphone maker’s first choice but not long, Snapdragon now officially confirmed that the Snapdragon Summit Event 2022 will be held from November 14 to November 17. But, Snapdragon didn’t unveil this event’s location, Hawaii is an estimated location.

Now, come to the point, in this Snapdragon Tech Summit Event, the tech firm will be presenting Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor which uses TSMC’s 4nm process, similar to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

Let’s talk about Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, this processor will be first equipped in the Galaxy S23 series – Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. While the Xiaomi also planning to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in its Xiaomi 13 series which is rumored to launch in December 2022.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Key Points:

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC might include a Cortex-X3 core, two Cortex-A720 cores, two Cortex-A720 cores; and three low-power Cortex-A510 cores, according to this. An Adreno 740 GPU might be in use with the CPU cores. Later this year, smartphones using the new Gen 2 flagship SoC will hit the market.
