Surface Go 4 is expected to switch to ARM chip, possibly Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c

Windows Central’s Zac Bowden speculates that the upcoming Surface Go 4 could be based on an ARM chip. Zac didn’t provide any solid details, release dates, or references to specific ARM chips. In the latest episode of “Ask Windows Central”, he said that Microsoft is internally considering using ARM chips in the next-generation Surface Go.

However, he also said that the news is not 100% certain, saying that ” Microsoft is still deciding” and “they are still discussing.”

If you choose an ARM, what chip will the Surface Go 4 use? In this regard, foreign technology media OnMSFT believes that the most likely Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c chip, after all, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c only appears in high-end devices. Intel’s options are still available to businesses.

Such a move could make sense for Microsoft. The company has been pushing Windows on ARM lately. Applications such as Visual Studio are optimized for ARM, as are many of Microsoft’s applications such as Edge and Microsoft Teams.
