Horizon Forbidden West grows in the UK, thanks to new PS5 stocks

Last week, a phenomenon we have been accustomed to for almost two years once again occurred in the UK: a PlayStation exclusive saw its sales increase in conjunction with the release of new PS5 stocks.

According to data provided by GfK UK, in the week ending July 2, retail sales of Horizon Forbidden West grew by an incredible 94% thanks to the arrival in stores of new units of the PlayStation 5, a console that, although it is preparing to blow its second candle, continues to be the subject of a discontinuous distribution and lower than demand.

The performance allowed Horizon Forbidden West to grab the second position in the UK weekly ranking, behind the new entry F1 2022.

TOP 10 UK Retail | June 26 – July 2, 2022

  • F1 22 (new)
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Nintendo Switch Sports
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
  • Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
  • FIFA 22
  • Mario Strikers: Battle League
  • Pokémon Legends: Arceus
  • Minecraft (Switch Edition)
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons

F1 22 recorded physical sales lower than those of F1 2021 at launch, but its performance can only be properly assessed when digital data is also disclosed. Returning to the work of Guerrilla Games, we report that today Horizon Forbidden West received Patch 1.17 with VRR and a new graphics mode.
