Rumored ruggedized Apple Watch Pro could cost $900

The long-rumored ruggedized Apple Watch Series 8 model could be given the “Pro” branding, and Apple could also eliminate the “Edition” high-end model to make room for the brand, according to a report. Multiple reports have speculated that Apple is working on a new Apple Watch model with a larger display and more protection aimed at extreme sports and highly active users.

Although it was rumored to be a “rugged” Apple Watch, there are now rumors that this model may have borrowed the suffix used by other Apple products. In Bloomberg’s “Power On” newsletter on Sunday, Mark Gurman believes that the Apple Watch will be named Apple Watch Pro to match its larger size and more protection and that using the “Pro” designation will expand Apple’s range to include the Pro model. product mix.

“That smartwatch will be designed to appeal to extreme sports athletes and anyone who might buy a high-end Garmin sports watch for intense exercise,” Gurman wrote.

Along with the launch of the Pro model, Gurman believes it will also lead to Apple pulling the Edition model off the roster. Originally wrapped in gold, the Edition model moved to stainless steel, titanium and ceramic casings and has remained the top-of-the-line option.

Apple Watch Pro may have a bigger screen and bigger battery, S8 chip and body temperature sensor, and its price may be closer to $900 starting, the larger display and use of more advanced materials can justify the higher price.

Gurman also speculated on the fate of the rumored watchOS low-power mode, which was supposed to be shown at WWDC but didn’t show up. It is thought that the model could still be announced at a later date.
