Elon Musk shared a tweet to mock Twitter

Twitter is preparing to file a lawsuit to force Elon Musk to complete its $44 billion acquisition deal. Musk responded with a witty meme late Sunday night. Musk tweeted a meme featuring a photo of himself laughing on the right and text on the left, reflecting on Twitter’s attitude toward the deal over the past few months. It can be seen that Musk is taking this complex and expensive deal lightly.

The deal has already weighed on Tesla’s stock price and led to multiple interim funding rounds by Musk.

“They (first) said, I can’t buy Twitter. Then they don’t disclose fake account information. Now, they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to disclose fake account information in court .” That’s what Ske’s text for the emoji said.

Musk first bought a large share of Twitter, driving up the company’s stock price, before agreeing in late April to take Twitter private at $54.20 a share. But as of Friday, Twitter shares closed at $36.81, a third below the purchase price. Musk has expressed growing dissatisfaction with the deal, arguing that Twitter failed to disclose key information, such as the specific number of fake and automated accounts on the platform, and formally notified Twitter on Friday that it was ready to pull out of the deal.

However, Twitter chairman Bret Taylor has said he will sue Musk to force him to complete the deal. “Twitter’s board is committed to completing the transaction on the price and terms agreed with Musk and plans to take legal action to enforce the merger agreement,” Taylor said.
