Samsung just launched a “metaverse” game called Space Tycoon, where you collect the company’s electronics in a virtual world. But for the South Korean tech giant, the game is more about promoting itself to attract more young consumers.
The company wrote in a press release that Space Tycoon is a game primarily aimed at Gen Z, with a large collection of virtual-themed accessories. Players can collect raw materials in the mining area in the virtual world, and then combine them in the laboratory area to create finished products – covering mobile phones, TVs, watches and other gadgets.
As shown in the picture above, the successfully synthesized Galaxy Z Flip flip-top folding screen smartphone can be used as a scooter in the “Space Tycoon” game (the TV can be used as a helicopter).
Of course, this isn’t Samsung’s first collaboration with Roblox — like a Superstar Galaxy / Charli XCX concert earlier this year. Samsung is expected to hold another Unpacked product launch later this summer when we are expected to usher in a new generation of folding screen smartphones.
Finally, Jinsoo Kim said the game is designed to give Gen Z customers the opportunity to experience Samsung products like never before in this interactive social advertising space.
