It’s been a while since Samsung refreshed it’s budget phablet Galaxy Tab A series. According to new leaks, a new Tab A7 (2022) model is imminent. The leaked information shows that the shape design of the new tablet has not changed much, from the front and back, it looks like the 2020 Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 model release.
In fact, Samsung may actually be reusing some parts, maybe even the device casing, because like its 2020 predecessor, the new Tab A7 (2022) also features a 10.4-inch, 1200 x 2000-pixel LCD display, an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie mirror, plus a 7040mAh battery. All of these specs haven’t changed much.
The main change in the new model is said to be the chip, and the 2022 tablet will be equipped with the Unisoc T618, a 12-nanometer SoC built on TSMC’s FinFET process, containing two ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, the six Cortex-A55 cores are also clocked at 2.0GHz, paired with a Mali G52MP2 GPU and optional LTE connectivity.
It replaces the Snapdragon 662 in the Tab A7 2020 model, which may actually be a downgrade. The new Tab A7 (2022) is said to have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. On a more positive note, the new Galaxy Tab A7 (2022) may launch at a lower price than its predecessor. Sources indicate that the suggested retail price is 199 euros.
