A few days ago we learned of the upcoming POCO M5s, a mid-range smartphone with good prospects that will be a rebrand of a Redmi of 2021. The brand affiliated with Xiaomi, however, has already planned and is in production of also POCO M5 base, which appeared in the first certifications thus paving the way for its launch in the Global market.

The first certification for M5 is reflected in model number 22071219CG, which is identified just as the POCO in question and the G shows us a smartphone aimed at the Global market. But what to expect from this device? From what we gather from the first rumors, it could be a 4G model and, above all, it could be an LTE version of POCO M4 5G, since there is currently no such version.

Therefore, you should expect a smartphone with a MediaTek or Snapdragon 4G chipset (therefore Helio G80 or Snapdragon 680) and a mid-level camera. Maybe we can see a good recharge, perhaps at 33W, so a smartphone that can make it’s quality/price ratio its main strength.

In short, we are preparing for a new series of POCO brand devices ready to complete the catalog of affordable mid-ranges, which are always very concrete in terms of user experience without too many pretensions. To understand what we are talking about, we leave you the review of POCO M4 Pro 4G, so as to frame the new M5.
