Google begins developing stylus support on Chrome for Android

Some evidence has recently emerged that Google has begun developing stylus support for the Android version of the Google Chrome browser. This novelty could be particularly appreciated on Android tablets, but also on smartphones equipped with a stylus.

Stylus support is coming to Google Chrome for Android

Chrome Story recently found traces of stylus support development on Chrome in a description within Chromium Gerritt, which explains that if enabled in settings on an appropriate platform, this feature will allow the user to enter text using a stylus.

This feature should therefore be usable on stylus-equipped devices such as Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Motorola G Stylus 5G, although this feature appears to aim to support more standard stylus types. It also seems that this novelty is intended for devices that will run Android 13 and later and those with “writing enabled”.

Another comment suggests that the stylus holder is primarily geared towards tablets where the display is larger, however it could also be effective on foldable smartphones that support the stylus such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series.
