YouTube Music has been available with Wear OS for a while, but there is no regular YouTube app. But there shouldn’t be many users who are waiting for something like this, because who wants to watch longer videos on the smartwatch.
If it is, you might be happy to hear that, because Google’s support page posted a screenshot (it has since been removed) showing a Wear OS menu with a YouTube app:
Just a mistake by Google? But why would the team add such a series to Wear OS? There may not be many using this, but YouTube is one of the most important services for Google, so why not offer an app.
A full-fledged video that lasts 10 minutes shouldn’t be the focus either. But Google is currently pushing the shorts on YouTube, so you can definitely watch something like that on your smartwatch when you’re bored. The Pixel Watch is coming up in September, which would be a good time to launch YouTube for Wear OS.
