Resident Evil has officially announced that it will receive a free update in October, which will be launched alongside the additional content of Resident Evil 8: Village, The Winters’ Succession and the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 8: Village.
Updates include:
- Subtitle size, color and background switching
- Display the speaker’s name in story mode
- Closed Caption
- Permanent window
Resident Evil 8: Village add-on The Winters’ Succession will be launched on October 28, 2022, which includes 3 major contents:
- Third Perspective Mode: Experience “Ethan’s Death Journey” from another perspective;
- Mercenary Mode: Follow-up Order: In addition to the additional levels, Chris Redfield, Heisenberg and Mrs. Timitrescu will also participate as playable characters!
- Phantom of Rose: Sixteen years after the main story of Resident Evil 8: The Village, a new plot starring Ethan’s beloved daughter Rosemary Winters.
A free accessibility update for all Resident Evil Village users is coming alongside the Winters’ Expansion and Gold Edition in October, adding:

– Speaker name display in story mode
– Closed captions
