Google Meet adding 360-degree backgrounds and in-call emoji reactions

Google Meet has been made more attractive recently by Google and it already gives you a lot of features to customize the video feed. And now Google is soon going to include two new features in Google Meet. The first is 360-degree backgrounds and the second is in-call emoji reactions.

Google Meet 360-Degree Backgrounds

Talking about 360-degree backgrounds, this feature takes advantage of the gyroscope/orientation data so that you can enjoy 360-degree backgrounds. Google Meet already offers a number of effects for customizing your video feed and will soon add 360-degree backgrounds. At launch, you can choose from an oasis (as seen below), sky city, or mountain temple, with more to come.

You will soon get to see this 360-degree backgrounds feature of Google Meet on Android and iOS apps. You can use it best when your background is not right or you are walking somewhere.

Google Meet In-Call Emoji Reactions

Google adds emoji reactions to Google Meet that appear “as a small badge in the sender’s video tile”. This facility was planned by Google in 2021.

Google said: We hope these features make it easier for you, your colleagues, and stakeholders to stay better connected and engaged, whether they’re working from home, the office, or anywhere in between.

The latest Emoji Reaction feature is now available on Google Meet Web, iOS, and Meet Hardware devices. Android is “coming soon,” with full availability in the coming weeks.
