Pricing for the rumoured Google Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a is consistent with forecasts

Further information on Google’s impending Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a has surfaced today, along with pricing information that is in line with forecasts.

Starting with the Pixel 7a, Google’s entry-level phone carries on a tradition of cost-effective gadgets that, particularly in the Tensor age, fit within a fairly precise price range. When the Pixel 6a went on sale for various amounts during the past few months, it was an even better deal at $449.

Google doesn’t have much room for the Pixel 7a’s price given that the Pixel 7 is available for $599, so a rumor from Yogesh Brar, a reputable tipster, makes perfect sense. The Pixel 7a will cost between $450 and $500, according to Brar.

Moreover, Brar claims in his tweet that the Pixel Fold will cost somewhere between $1,300 and $1,500. This is less expensive than the $1,799 pricing we first heard about in November of last year, but it still falls within the range of what we previously claimed Google was aiming for with earlier iterations of the device.

Although it’s difficult to say for sure, it might make sense for Google to divide the price difference. In any case, the $200 price range is much less expensive than Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series and perfectly reasonable. Brar, in an interesting turn of events, does challenge the timelines we heard yesterday. The Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold were rumored to go on sale in mid-June of this year, according to a retail leak.

Brar asserts that the 7a won’t be available internationally until at least July (Q3). This may indicate that Google will introduce the product first in the US and a few other markets before extending internationally. The Pixel Fold has also been referenced in the past, and Brar confirms that it will be released in “certain regions.”
