The first update of 2023 for Chromecast with Google TV was released in late January. Now, another new update rolled out for the Chromecast with Google TV with the January 2023 security patch update. The build is marked with the code STTE.221215.004.A1 and the update size is 152MB – 148MB. The changelog is quite terse, and includes only two entries:
- Android security patch level has been updated to Jan 2023
- Other bug fixes and performance improvements
- Open the Google Home app

- Touch and hold your device’s tile.
- Tap Settings
Device information.
- Under “Technical information,” check for Cast firmware: “X.XXX.XXXXX.” If the device is on Fuchsia, check for the System firmware version: “X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX”
Your device will usually download updates automatically. To manually download the latest update, follow these steps:
- Go to the home screen of your Chromecast with Google TV.
- Choose Settings
