Apple readies iOS 16.5.1 update for iPhone after iOS 17 beta

Apple is in the process of preparing an iOS 16.5.1 update for iPhone users, as indicated by recent findings in the analytics logs of our website. The exact release date for this update remains unknown, but it is expected to become available either this week or the following week.

Typically, minor updates such as iOS 16.5.1 primarily concentrate on addressing bug fixes, enhancing stability, and providing security patches, rather than introducing new features. An issue had been observed with Apple’s Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter not functioning correctly on iPhones running iOS 16.5. However, this problem had already been resolved in the iOS 16.6 beta version released last month. Consequently, it is highly likely that the fix will be included in the upcoming iOS 16.5.1 update.

During the recent WWDC event, Apple unveiled the first beta version of iOS 17. Scheduled for public release later this year, iOS 17 will be compatible with iPhone models from iPhone XS onwards. It boasts an array of exciting new features, including StandBy mode specifically designed for landscape-position charging, interactive Home Screen widgets, enhanced autocorrect functionality, the introduction of a Journal app, and much more. Notably, this marks the first time that developer betas are accessible without requiring a $99/year Apple Developer program membership.

In an earlier announcement, Apple disclosed that 81% of all active iPhones were running iOS 16. However, with the advent of the iOS 17 beta, it is highly likely that this percentage has declined. Anticipated to be released in September, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 15 series, iOS 17 is set to captivate Apple enthusiasts with its exciting new features and improvements.
