Xiaomi, POCO, Redmi: Upcoming availability of MIUI 15 for select smartphones

Xiaomi, a leading smartphone manufacturer, is making preparations to introduce MIUI 15, potentially based on Android 14, to a range of its smartphones. While some devices are expected to receive the update, others may not be included.

Excitement is mounting as Xiaomi is currently testing Android 14 on its Xiaomi 13 series and concurrently working towards the launch of MIUI 15. A preliminary list compiled by Xiaomiui provides insights into which older Xiaomi smartphones may be eligible for the software upgrade, while others will continue to operate on MIUI 14.

MIUI 15, anticipated to be unveiled in mid-November, brings forth a plethora of new features and enhancements. Xiaomi plans to distribute MIUI 15, along with Android 14, to numerous recent smartphone models, commencing with the Xiaomi 14 and 13 series. Additionally, recently released Redmi devices such as the Note 12 series and Redmi K60, as well as the POCO X5 and F5, are expected to receive the update.

It is important to note that the aforementioned list is currently provisional and has not yet been officially confirmed by Xiaomi. Furthermore, newly launched and more recent smartphone models are not included, as they are already slated to receive MIUI 15 as per Xiaomi’s software policy.

Among the smartphones expected to be eligible for MIUI 15 are notable models such as the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10S, POCO X3, POCO X3 NFC, Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Lite, as well as various devices from the Redmi A1 series, Redmi 10, and Redmi Note 9.

Conversely, certain smartphones are unlikely to receive the MIUI 15 update due to factors such as their release timing and hardware limitations. Examples of such devices include the Mi 10 Lite 5G, Mi 10T Lite, Mi 10i 5G, various models from the Redmi K30 and Redmi Note 9 series, as well as certain models from the Redmi 9 and POCO M2 series.

Official information from Xiaomi regarding the update is still pending. Therefore, it is prudent to treat all the aforementioned information as speculative until the final presentation in November, when we can expect to gain certainty on the matter.
