Beats Studio Pro outperforms AirPods Max in battery life and features

9to5Mac recently provided an exclusive preview of the highly anticipated Beats Studio Pro over-ear headphones, marking Beats’ first release in this category in over five years. Today, we have obtained the complete specification sheet for the Beats Studio Pro, unveiling an array of new features, battery life details, and more.

Enhanced Audio Quality with ANC, Transparency Mode, and Spatial Audio

According to a trusted source who shared insights with 9to5Mac, the Beats Studio Pro promises a significant advancement in audio quality. These headphones will incorporate two customized 40 mm drivers capable of delivering distortion-free sound, even at high volumes. Beats claims an 80% improvement in audio fidelity compared to the previous Beats Studio3, ensuring an elevated listening experience.

To further enhance the sound profile, the Beats Studio Pro will feature an integrated digital processor designed to optimize the final frequency response, resulting in a powerful and well-balanced sound that highlights the intricate details of your audio.

Similar to other recent Beats products, the Beats Studio Pro will support Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.

Moreover, the implementation of Spatial Audio in the Beats Studio Pro will include dynamic head tracking and support for Personalized Spatial Audio. Presently, Spatial Audio with head tracking is exclusively available on Apple’s third-generation AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max.

However, Personalized Spatial Audio is supported on the AirPods Max, AirPods 3, and AirPods Pro, leveraging the TrueDepth camera on your iPhone to create a customized spatial audio profile.

Convenient Control and Enhanced Call Performance

The Beats Studio Pro will include a multi-function button on the side, enabling users to seamlessly switch between Transparency Mode and Active Noise Cancellation, along with toggling between listening modes and managing connectivity.

Additionally, the headphones will incorporate upgraded voice-targeting microphones, offering improved call clarity by actively filtering out background noise. The call performance is expected to be up to 27% better than that of the Beats Studio3.

Versatile Connectivity Options

Surpassing the AirPods Max, the Beats Studio Pro will provide users with both a USB-C port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Remarkably, Beats will include a standard 3.5 mm audio cable and a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box, a gesture not replicated by Apple.

The Beats Studio Pro offers three distinct listening modes when connected via the USB-C cable:

  • The Beats Signature profile delivers tonally balanced tuning suitable for all genres of music.
  • The Entertainment profile amplifies select portions of the audio spectrum, enhancing the experience for movies and games.
  • The Conversation profile optimizes the frequency response for voice, ideal for phone calls or podcasts.
  • Seamless Integration with iOS and Android

While Beats Studio Pro won’t utilize an Apple-designed chip, such as the H2 chip found in the latest AirPods Pro, it will feature a custom-designed Beats chip to ensure cross-platform compatibility with both Apple and Android devices.

Android users can benefit from Google Fast Pair for quick and automatic pairing with Android or Chrome devices registered to their Gmail account. The Audio Switch functionality allows for seamless audio transition between Android, Chromebook, and other compatible devices. The Beats app for Android offers product customization, software updates, and new features for an optimized headphone experience. Additionally, Android users can utilize the Google Find My Device feature to easily locate their misplaced headphones.

For Apple users, Beats Studio Pro provides the convenience of one-touch pairing, instant setup with all devices in their iCloud account, over-the-air updates for automatic software updates and new features.
