Galaxy Watch 6 model numbers emerge ahead of imminent launch

The highly anticipated release of the Galaxy Watch 6 series is imminent, and early information regarding the devices has surfaced, revealing their respective model numbers.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic recently received Google Play certification, as discovered by Dylan Roussel. While this development does not divulge extensive details about the smartwatches, it does provide official confirmation of some essential aspects.

Notably, the official names of the devices have been revealed as “Galaxy Watch6” and “Galaxy Watch6 Classic.” Although this revelation may not come as a surprise, it solidifies the validity of these designations.

Additionally, the model numbers for the Galaxy Watch 6 series have been disclosed, adhering to the established naming conventions of previous iterations. The following are the model numbers for the various variants of the Galaxy Watch 6 series:

  • Galaxy Watch 6 (40mm): SM-R930
  • Galaxy Watch 6 (44mm): SM-R940
  • Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (43mm): SM-R950
  • Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (47mm): SM-R960

While the model numbers do not explicitly confirm the reported sizes, which have been previously leaked, the codenames “fresh6bl” and “fresh6bs” associated with the Watch 6 suggest the existence of both large and small sizes.

It is worth noting that no LTE models have been listed yet; however, if history is any indication, they will likely adopt a nomenclature that includes the number “5” appended to the existing model number. It is expected that additional Galaxy Watch 6 models will receive certification in the coming weeks as the official launch draws near.
