Samsung Galaxy S24+ spotted on Geekbench

Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S24, has made its first appearance in the Geekbench database, shedding light on its technical specifications. The model tested in the database is the US version, equipped with a Qualcomm processor, but details about the European version remain undisclosed.

The Galaxy S23 series showcased the remarkable performance of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which posed a challenge for Samsung to create a suitable successor for the Galaxy S24. While rumors suggest that the European variant might feature a new, proprietary Exynos 2400 processor, the American version is confirmed to be powered by a Snapdragon processor.

The benchmark entry for the Galaxy S24 model reveals the US Galaxy S24+ with model number SM-S926U. The device is equipped with a Qualcomm chipset codenamed “Pineapple,” boasting 8 computing cores with a maximum clock speed of 3.3GHz and 8GB of RAM. It also features the Adreno 750 GPU, unmistakably indicating the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

Additionally, the benchmark indicates that the device is being tested with Android 14, which is a logical choice as it will likely become the standard version for Android devices upon the release of the S24 series. The Galaxy S24 is anticipated to run on One UI 6.1, succeeding One UI 6, and this update is expected to roll out to various Samsung phones during the fall, coinciding with Android 14’s release.

As the benchmark test was conducted on a prototype, conclusive statements about the device’s performance cannot be made at this stage. Both the device and processor are still in the developmental phase and are yet to be optimized for peak performance.
