Upcoming Google Pixel 8a and Pixel 9 spotted in recent Google apps

In recent times, speculation surrounding the potential release of the Google Pixel 8a has arisen, prompting discussions about its viability alongside the Pixel 8. Considering the similarities between the Pixel 7a and Pixel 7, both in terms of technical specifications and pricing (ranging from 509 to 649 euros), there may come a point where offering both variants becomes impractical. Nevertheless, the Pixel A series remains a top-selling line for Google, making the prospect of a Pixel 8a still possible.

Developers closely monitoring source codes have made noteworthy discoveries, providing a glimpse into Google’s future plans. One such instance is the unearthing of the codename “Akita” alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in a recent Google app, strongly indicating its association with the Pixel 8a.

Additionally, the forthcoming Pixel 9 has already surfaced in another source code, internally designated as “Caiman.” While the existence of the Pixel 9 may not be surprising, its early appearance in source codes adds to the intrigue. The potential arrival of the Pixel 8a, however, remains a more encouraging development. Despite the considerable time gap until its anticipated release in 2024, the possibility remains open for the time being.
