Google launches Android 14 Beta 5 for Pixel devices

Google has introduced the fifth and final Beta version of Android 14 for Pixel smartphones, including the Tablet and Fold models, just ahead of the imminent public release. This release follows the last major update by a month and represents the concluding scheduled enhancement in the Android 14 beta initiative.

With the official launch of Android 14 in the near future, the Beta 5 iteration serves as the ultimate opportunity for developers to ensure their applications are fully compatible and to gather user feedback prior to the wider release of Android 14.

Noteworthy improvements and issue resolutions are included in this third Platform Stable Android 14 release intended for conclusive application testing:

  • Fixed an issue where after unlocking a device using a PIN, TalkBack provides incorrect audio.
  • Fixed an issue where Wi-Fi scanning was consuming too much battery.
