Galaxy S24 Ultra to feature titanium frame without weight increase

Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, is poised to introduce a range of enhancements. Alongside an intensified display luminosity and an elevated-resolution telephoto camera, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to debut a titanium frame, a notably denser material compared to the prevailing aluminum employed in the company’s premium phones. Remarkably, this advancement in toughness will not contribute to an increase in the device’s weight.

Renowned tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) has disclosed that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will boast a mere 233g weight, precisely 1g lighter than its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which incorporated an Armor Aluminum frame. This revelation underscores Samsung’s significant engineering dedication to achieving a paradoxical blend of enhanced durability and reduced weight. The handset’s design is expected to parallel that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, maintaining customary features such as Gorilla Glass protection for both front and rear surfaces, coupled with an IP68 rating certifying dust and water resilience.

Among the speculated features of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen assumes center stage, characterized by QHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device is rumored to retain the 200MP ISOCELL HP2 primary camera sensor, supplemented by a 12MP ultrawide lens, a 50MP telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto lens enabling 10x optical zoom capabilities. Notably, the larger and higher-resolution telephoto sensor is poised to deliver a 5x optical zoom with exceptional clarity due to innovative in-sensor cropping technology.

Expected to emerge in dual variants, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by the Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips, both fabricated using a 4nm process. The Exynos 2400 iteration is anticipated to dominate markets across Africa, Asia, and Europe, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 counterpart is slated for release in the US and Chinese markets. The phone will house a 5,000mAh battery, complemented by 45W fast charging technology, upholding its commitment to efficient power management.
