OLED TV panel shipments to reach 6.9 million units in 2024

As per the latest report from the market research firm DSCC, in 2024, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV panel shipments will reach 6.9 million units, up 28% from the previous year.

DSCC’s forecast for OLED TV panel shipments this year of 6.9 million units is still lower than the record high of 7.7 million units in 2021. Until 2021, only LG Display produced OLED TV panels.

Annual OLED TV panel shipments peaked at 7.7 million units in 2021, then decreased to 7.5 million units in 2022 and 5.4 million units in 2023. Starting in 2022, Samsung Display QD-OLED TV panels also began to be shipped, but overall OLED TV panel shipments decreased.

Among the 5.4 million OLED TV panel shipments in 2023, LG Display’s W-OLED TV panel share was estimated at 82% (approximately 4.4 million units). The remaining 18% (about 1 million units) are Samsung Display QD-OLED TV panels. LG Display’s share of OLED TV panel sales in 2023 was estimated at 76%.
