Google admits that the new version of reCaptcha is not compatible

Google has recently released a new version of the reCaptcha verification system. After the release, there was an issue of incompatibility with the Windows version of the Firefox browser, so Google announced today that it would withdraw the update.

The Firefox browser on Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems is not compatible with the new version of reCaptcha, and cannot enter the regular verification process, but an infinitely rotating circle.

Mozilla’s BUG report shows that this is because the Windows version of Firefox browser is related to the reCaptcha dark mode detection program.

This script attempts to use document.body.removeChild to modify the background color of the div, but when the script is loaded into the HTML head, the DOM has not yet been loaded, and document.body is not available, resulting in a script error.

Mozilla Firefox software engineer Dennis Schubert confirmed the bug and said Google acknowledged it was an issue with their scripts, not the browser, and was working on a fix.
