The first emulator to support AMD FSR, PS3 game emulator RPCS3 update release

At Computex 2021, AMD officially released its own super-resolution technology FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), which is used to benchmark the DLSS technology on NVIDIA RTX graphics cards. Now, the first game console emulator that supports FSR has appeared. RPCS3 is an open-source Sony PlayStation 3 emulator that allows users of Windows, Linux or BSD systems to run Sony PlayStation 3 games.

RPCS3 announced yesterday that it supports AMD FSR. After updating to the latest version, it can be turned on in the Settings -> GPU option. The RPCS3 emulator supports 62% of PS3 games, the remaining 31% of the games will fail, and 6% of the games will not run at all.

However, AMD FSR may not be very useful for the RPCS3 emulator, because the PlayStation 3 emulator game is very CPU-intensive, and the GPU that is optimized for FSR is not very demanding, and there is no anti-aliasing, and the picture loss may be greater after it is turned on.
