Apple released iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 Beta 2 preview version updates to developers yesterday, and today pushed the corresponding version to public testers again. After users install the correct configuration file, they can download the iOS/iPadOS 14.5 public beta 2 update via the Public Beta website or wirelessly.
The important update content of this version is generally the same as the updated content of yesterday’s developer beta, which is briefly mentioned below.
Some of the new features in iOS 14.5 Beta2 include but are not limited to:
- New swipe gestures and new pop-up menus for other controls have been added to Apple Music
- Added new shortcuts for taking screenshots and changing orientation lock
- iPad 8, iPad Air 4, iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation) on iPadOS 14.5 now mute the built-in microphone when their smart portfolio is closed.
- New iPad privacy features
- iOS 14.5 also brings more than 200 new emoji emoticons, including headphones similar to Airpods Max
- There are user feedbacks on Reddit that iOS 14.5 Beta2 fixes the green screen problem, and it cannot be confirmed temporarily
