Video conference Zoom App will launch automatic closed captioning

Zoom will provide all users with automatic closed captioning services. Paying users can get AI-based transcription services, while other users can do it manually or rely on third-party services.

Zoom product marketing manager Jen Hill said in a statement: “We expect a large number of requests. We will have a process to enable this feature for all users. Thank you for your patience.”

Currently, this service only supports English. Zoom stated that background noise, the volume and clarity of the speaker’s voice, and vocabulary and dialect proficiency may affect the accuracy of the automatic on-site transcription.
