Apple’s new Mac Pro Leaked: Self-developed 64-core processor + 3nm process

The Mac Pro, known as the most expensive desktop computer, is about to be replaced, but Apple won’t take it out so quickly, and it will be next year at the earliest. According to the latest news from foreign media, Apple plans to update the Mac Pro in 2022, and the reason why it has to wait so late is mainly waiting for its own M-series chips. It is said that the new device will also provide a lighter version.

According to Techpowerup, Apple plans to release the fourth-generation Mac Pro in 2022. The 2022 Mac Pro will be equipped with the most powerful Apple chip to date and will provide versions with 32, 48 and 64 core configurations.

The revealed news shows that the entry-level 32-core version of the new Mac Pro will include 24 high-performance cores, 32 GPU cores, and 64GB of memory, starting at $5,499; the mid-range 48-core model will include 36 high-performance cores and 64 GPUs. The core, 256GB of memory, starts at $11,999; the highest-end 64-core model will include 48 high-performance cores, 128 GPU cores, and 512GB of memory, with a starting price of $18,999. The currently available storage options range from 512GB to 8TB.

Some people in the industry have said before that the Mac product line based on Intel chips will not die soon. After all, the current platform still has greater advantages in terms of scalability and multi-channel graphics (AMD GPU) support.

According to the leaked information, the M2 processor will be based on the 5nm process, and Apple will further improve the multi-core performance (with 32 cores or even 64 cores), which should be enough to cope with more threads, based on the 3nm process.
