WhatsApp no more supporting iOS 9, older versions and iPhone 4s

The well-known instant messaging software WhatsApp recently updated its support document (iOS 2.21.50), announcing that it will stop supporting iOS 9 and previous versions. In other words, if you are still using an old Apple device with iOS 9, then you need to upgrade the system or device to continue using the software. With the end of support for iOS 9, WhatsApp will no longer be able to run on iPhone 4s.

WhatsApp now needs to run iOS 10 (released in 2016) and above. In other words, the oldest device that supports this app is the iPhone 5 running iOS 10. Last year, this messaging service under Facebook gave up support for iOS 8 and older versions of the operating system.

If we follow this trend, we will likely see the company end its support for iOS 10 next year. However, it is still unclear what the final decision is with the company. Currently, WhatsApp has ended support for all iPhone models running iOS 9.
