Apple’s first 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display has been listed as an obsolete product

Apple today added the 13-inch MacBook Pro at the end of 2012, which is the first 13-inch MacBook Pro equipped with a Retina display, to its list of obsolete products. Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro released in mid-2012 introduced the Retina display to the Mac product line for the first time. In October of the same year, Apple updated the 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display, flash memory and an upgraded processor.

The original 15-inch MacBook Pro was listed as an obsolete product in July 2020, and now the 13-inch model is also obsolete. Apple classifies products that have been discontinued for at least 7 years as “obsolete products”, which means that these products cannot get any hardware services from Apple or its service providers.
