Xiaomi became China’s largest mobile phone manufacturer in February

Counterpoint data shows that in February this year, Xiaomi Group’s global mobile phone market share reached 13%, becoming China’s largest mobile phone manufacturer. In addition, Huawei’s global market share fell to 4%. Samsung is firmly seated as the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer, with a market share of 20%; Apple ranks second with a market share of 17%.

In terms of other manufacturers, OPPO ranked fourth with a global market share of 12%; Vivo ranked fifth with a market share of 10%, and Honor’s global market share was 2%.

In terms of Chinese smartphones, Counterpoint data shows that in January 2021, OPPO became the number one smartphone brand in China for the first time, with a market share of 21%, followed by Vivo with a share of 20%, Huawei, Apple and Xiaomi Each accounted for 16%. Monthly sales of OPPO smartphones increased by 33% month-on-month and 26% year-on-year.
