Microsoft has adapted the new user exit automatic lock screen for Windows 10 21H2

A few years ago, Microsoft added a feature API called Human presence. At present, flagship products such as Lenovo and Dell use this feature, but the penetration rate is average. As the name implies, Windows 10 can use this feature to detect whether the user is in front of the computer and improve security while maintaining ease of use.

According to the WindowsLatest, with the update of Windows 10 Sun Valley, Microsoft will introduce native controls for this feature. Because currently you can only use applications that come with OEMs such as Dell or Lenovo to use this feature, but this will change with the update of the new version of Windows 10. It will provide group policies and settings by default to facilitate user use.

As shown in the figure below, Microsoft is making three new settings for Windows 10: force the immediate lock, force immediate wake-up, and auto-lock after a timeout. It is reported that when the first option is enabled, Windows will automatically lock your computer after the user leaves the screen.

If you have a supported camera, Windows 10 can sense that you are sitting or standing in front of the computer, and it can also detect when you are away from the computer. When you are away for a certain period of time (for example, 2 minutes, 30 seconds, and 10 seconds), the automatic screen lock will be triggered. In addition, it can detect distances—1.2 meters, 2.5 meters, 0.6 meters, or 1 meter—without logging in.

The second function is “instant wake” when you sit in front of the laptop, you can automatically enter the desktop without unlocking it. The biggest change in the new version of Windows 10 is the change in the user interface. It is expected that we will be able to see the updated look of Sun Valley in June/July, so stay tuned.
